Xanthelasma of the eyelids are flat or slightly raised, white to yellow plaques that develop on the skin in the eyelid area. Often symmetrical, affecting the same eyelid area in both eyes, they can be multiple and coalesce. They are skin lesions resulting from the deposition of lipids in the skin and may be associated with high serum cholesterol levels. The treatment is surgical. Performed for aesthetic reasons, the removal of the lesion using radio frequency and eyelid suture.
